Pledge For Change

An activity to empower your students to stand up against injustice by pledging to be the change they wish to see in the world!

In this activity, students will listen to a read-aloud of the book, Say Something by Peter H. Reynolds. They will then decide what injustice they would like to stand up for and pledge to take action to help be the change necessary.

Teacher TipSeeing is believing! Find a space (either virtual, like padlet.com, or physical) for students to post and share their pledges.

Looking for another resource to inspire students? Use this read-aloud of The Word Collector (another book by Peter H. Reynolds) to teach them that words are powerful, and have the potential to connect, transform, and inspire. Another added bonus? This read-aloud is done by Barack and Michelle Obama.
